Ethel Alzofon (Bloomfield) studied at Rice University from 1936-1940. She was eighteen years old at graduation, making her one of the youngest persons to graduate in the history of the University.
During her four years at Rice she worked as a reporter at various publications including the Thresher, a student weekly newspaper, The Houston Press ( a Scripps Howard paper) and the Houston Chronicle.
In 2012 her scrapbook, surfaced.
The scrapbook contains 56 extra large pages (15"x11"), filled with carefully pasted newspapers articles. Each page as well as each article is dated.
None of the articles list the name of the author or indicate which publications they came from.
